Sky glass flickers
Anyone else experience slight flickering on amazon prime video on the sky glass gen 1, I've purchased mufasa and the live action snow white, and through the movies you get a very slight flicker which is annoying, they all in uhd etc and other movies I've purchased like top gun maverick for example does not do it. I have 900 speed Internet and all hard wired not WiFi. My t.v upstairs is an l.g 55 inch run by the streaming puck and the flickering does not happen. Is this a fault with the sky glass or something?

Re: Sky glass flickers
@howdy12 From Google. It might help:
Flickering on UHD Sky Glass is a known issue, often caused by software glitches or refresh rate mismatches. Sky has addressed this with software updates in the past, and troubleshooting steps can often resolve the issue. Interference from nearby devices and poor HDMI connections can also contribute to flickering.
Here's a breakdown of potential causes and solutions:
1. Software Issues:
Software Updates:
Sky periodically releases software updates that address various issues, including flickering. Make sure your Sky Glass TV is up to date.
Reboots/Restarts:
Try restarting or power cycling the Sky Glass TV.
2. HDMI Connection:
HDMI Cable: Ensure you're using a high-speed HDMI cable compatible with UHD.
Connection Stability: Check for loose or damaged HDMI connections.
3. Refresh Rate Mismatch:
Check TV Settings:
Ensure your TV's refresh rate settings are set correctly.
App Judder Reduction:
Experiment with the "Judder Reduction" setting in the Sky Glass settings, as it might affect refresh rate for app streaming.
4. Other Possible Causes:
Overheating: Ensure the TV is not overheating.
Outdated Firmware: Make sure your TV's firmware is up to date.
By addressing these potential issues, you can often resolve flickering on your Sky Glass TV.

Re: Sky glass flickers
Sky glass has no judder settings unfortunately even tho Google says it does. As for hdmi leads there's none connected as it run straight from the router with ethernet cable. Thanks for the help tho, it only does it on certain movies and only on some purchased movies. All other Amazon videos thats on their library are fine.

Re: Sky glass flickers
Im seeing this too, only on Amazon Prime though - HTTYD & HTTYD2; flickering is noticeable on the faces of the characters, like it's changing colourspace momentarily.
The google suggestion earlier in the thread is a Gemini (AI) response, hence the mention of HDMI, which is irrelevant.
Anti judder is a setting on the pucks for apps.

Re: Sky glass flickers
There was a thread maybe 2 years ago that I started where I encountered a full screen bright flashing on just the prime app.....
I can't find the thread now (not from lack of trying !)
at the time it was like a momentary lightning flash within the programme ..... once you noticed it it was difficult to ignore. It righted itself after a few months
43inch Gen 1 and 55 inch Gen 2 Sky Glass & sky live camera 3 Pucks. Virgin media M350 hub 5x. Four sky mobile sims.

Re: Sky glass flickers
Just got a bravia 8 with streaming puck now, and the picture is crisp and outstanding, ps no flickering on amazon either, plus I noticed with sky glass with amazon that older movies from the 80s show to much graining, still abit of graining on the bravia but no where near the sky glass was,

Re: Sky glass flickers
Do you get flickering on the gen 2 as well then? Reason I had a feeling it was the sky glass is because my upstairs t.v is an 55 lg from 2017 full 4k etc, thats a streaming puck and no flickering, can't help but wonder if sky on purpose put a bug in the amazon app as they probably losing sales through their sky store as they only offer HD content while amazon offers uhd.
