Sky glass flickering on all channels
Hi, got this new sky glass delivered but not happy at all, whenever you go on any channel you get intermittent flashing and when I record something and play it back the picture has a dull look to it, the tv is not connected by wire's and the internet we have is from a satellite company as we are in a rural area, i was never told about the minimum internet speeds before I signed up for the sky glass or we would lose all are loved films and tv shows as well otherwise I would never have upgraded to sky glass, can anyone help? thank you.

Re: Sky glass flickering on all channels
Not sure your broadband comes through a satellite dish as that points into space, and broadband / Internet is phone lines or fibre optic lines. And you watch sky glass is a minimum of 25mps for hd channels and 35mps for uhd channels, and that's not counting any other devices that you may have connected to the Internet,

There are companies that provide broadband via satellite especially for rural areas. Speed can be an issue, but latency could be more of a problem for Glass/Stream which requires a strong stable connection. If the OP could describe the "flashing" more clearly would be helpful. Does the picture break up or is the screen flashing bright occasionally?

Re: Sky glass flickering on all channels
Sounds like you have Starlink broadband.
I know of a few that have this for their broadband.
They have used it for many years with Sky Q and have now both moved to a mix of Sky Glass and Sky Stream.
Both are using the supplied Starlink router and have for a good twelve months of Sky Glass/Stream not had any issues whatever with their Sky Glass/Stream.
They both use a wifi connection to all their Sky devices.
They are quite heavy household internet users on devices in addition to their Sky TV.
The speeds they get on average are 150-170 Mbps download and 25-35 Mbps upload.
Their latency is around 21-25ms, occasionally up to 30ms.
Perhaps, you are not getting a similar reliable connection and speed.
Can you do a network speed test on each of your Pucks.
Launch Netflix on your pucks (you do not need to be logged into it, if you do not use netflix) and scroll down the left menu to Get help.
Choose Check Network.
Would suggest running the test a few times, say a few minutes between tests.
What is your speed?
Sky Stream with two pucks (Former Sky Q and Sky+ customer), Sky Ultrafast + using Sky SR203 hub. Sky Protect kit tester.
My good journey to Sky Stream from Sky Q. Click here to read
