Typical Building & Contents insurance doesn't cover hardware failure (unless the item in question actually catches on fire ; )

 

It's device  insurance which is relevant, and most people don't have that.

I certainly wouldn't buy another Glass tv especially as the 1st one only lasted that length of time. Very poor indeed given the price you paid. @Cornwaldens
