Sky Glass or Sky Stream?

Trying to decide which to have stream with existing TV or Glass. I don't seem to be able to get a 63 inch Sky Glass. Not sure why.

Re: Sky Glass or Sky Stream?

Hi @JThomson63 Sky are having a press event in Febrary with rumour (not known fact) having it that they may be announcing a new version of the Sky Glass TV set. The various sizes and colours of the current Glass TV have been either low availability or out of stock for several weeks now. If you are considering Glass TV it may be worth waiting a few weeks.

All that not withstanding, if you have any questions or queries around deciding betweek Glass & Stream, feel free to post them. Quite a few of us have either got or have had both a Glass TV & the Stream puck and should be able to help out.

Do not get sky glass. It is the worse thing they have ever bought out, no end of problems and I'm now going to the ombudsman!

@JThomson63 I had glass for 18 months before swapping to a new Smart TV with soundbar and stream puck a year ago.  It was a great decision with far superior picture quality and sound.  Plus of course you have all the benefits of a smart TV.

The article at THIS link is speculation but it would certainly be worth waiting to see if they are correct and if so what the specs will be.

Re: Sky Glass or Sky Stream?

I almost got sky glass when I moved home as didnt want a sat dish at the new house. Thankfully sky messed up the order to such a degree that I got out of the contract and switched to stream instead with some pretty big discounts due to the utter mess sky made initially on the home move.

I would not consider sky glass in its current format - its old tech - needs a major upgrade and maybe in Feb there is news of sky glass 2. Speculation only. As it stands now - not worth it and to be fair I have had very few issues with Stream. But I do have really fast gig wifi which very close to the stream box. Needs a reboot every now and then and its very different from Q. But I am happy with it now I have got used to the layout and the way it does things. Sky glass is a great concept but too many issues at this time to justify the ridiculous price they charge for these neolithic tv sets.

I put my money into a Samsung TV which is superb - and have stream / fire stick/ roku sound bar - works perfectly (most of the time for me )

So stream for price and ease of use and ability to have a TV of your own choice is what I would consider. Each their own though.
