Sky Glass after contract ended

Hi

I have just spent 55 minutes trying to explain my Sky Glass/Stream issues to an advisor that sadly seems to have been poorly trained, this is after spending 85 minutes on the phone last Friday speaking to a total of 5 different advisors.

My story is as follows, in February I renewed my contract. A change in my circumstances meant I no longer needed whole home so I sent back two sky pucks and the Sky Glass in the bedroom (which is paid off) was cancelled as no longer needed. I have one puck in the living room

I was led to believe that the glass tv would become a smart tv which I could then give to a local charity. However this didn't happen I got the sky setup logo an aerial logo and three HDMI inputs on the screen.

I waited hoping it would change, as nothing did I rang again an a helpful chap said he would sort it out. He did by turning the full glass package back on - not what I wanted.

On Friday I tried to get this sorted again, today I received a text instruction on how to make glass a smart tv, it didn't work. Looking on my account it states I no longer have a Sky puck or Sky glass. Today's call has left me frustrated as the advisor hasn't sorted anything out for me.

Can anyone advise where I should go now?

Paul

@Wolfie15  It's not going to be a smart tv in the sense of an ordinary everyday one

the link below explains what a smart glass will do once you cancel your subscription

Hello SKY199bf

Thanks for replying so quickly. I might be expecting too much fron it but I did think that it would be something like this chap showed on his YouTube video - https://youtu.be/dGUb4ilzTLM?si=P2F2gFSOtghnTB4x

All I get is this

The Glass TV needs to be activated with a Sky ID in order to get access to the other apps.

The SkyID does not need to have an active streaming TV subscription, but it does somewhat restrict what you can do with the TV, particularly if you are planning on giving it to someone else.

If you master reset the tv after cancelling your subscription then the tv will not have the apps etc. when cancelling your subscription you have to make sure your sky account is still active as this is registered to the tv. If you reset the tv then you will need to call sky to relink your account to the tv
