Sky Glass Rainbow Issue

I was delivered my new 55 inch Sky Glass TV today. I was advised set up was simple so I told delivery men that I'll do it myself. Completed the set up and for hours now it's showing a big horizontal rainbow line across the TV. Has anyone had this issue, is it a case of waiting longer or could it be an network issue?

@Tim+Adams @gr1zzlcy

It's working!

They advised to switch sky TV off at the wall.

Once off press and hold the on button at the side of the TV for a few seconds and then switch TV on at the mains.

Brings you through an update and they you have to srt it up.

So happy 😊

Hi @Jennifer81C

It sounds like it's crashed, trying switch off at the socket and wait a min then turn it back on and wait a min then press power.

Thanks,

Tim

Re: Sky Glass Rainbow Issue

@Tim+Adams sadly did not work. Is there anyway of rebooting it. Please tell me I don't have to wait for someone to come out and check it. It's very strange that brand new TV can have an issue like this

Hi @Jennifer81C

Switching it off at the socket is the rebooting. Are you connected via WiFi or ethernet?

If WiFi could you connect to Ethernet (even if temporarily) and then turn it back on at the socket and see what happens.

Failing that I'd advise contacting Sky in morning who will troubleshoot and possibly talk you through the recovery procedure.

Thanks,

Tim

@Tim+Adams

By the looks of it I must of been given a dodgy TV.

I've connected to Ethernet but still no luck. I feel like I'm going mad. I thought this was going to be a good idea having Sky Glass but by the looks of the forums I've just signed a death wish 😞

@Jennifer81C

Would you be able to take a photo of the screen with it on? You can upload it in here by pressing the camera logo on the post screen, it'll take a while to show up.

Thanks,

Tim

Thanks @Jennifer81C

If it's staying like that even after switching off at the socket then unfortunately it's best to call Sky. The reset procedure can be problematic and cause more issues so it's only best to do if told by Sky.

Did it work at all since you got it or does it always show that screen?

Best advice is leave it unplugged and try in the morning if it still does it then call Sky.

Thanks,

Tim

Re: Sky Glass Rainbow Issue

I'm having the same issue this morning. After working fine since I baught it, my 65 inch Sky Glass asked for an update, I confirmed yes and it went through the download no problem.

Now it's just looping through the Rainbow line a few times before switching off then back on through the Black skreen with Sky written in white over and over.

Re: Sky Glass Rainbow Issue

PTN. Keep the standby button pressed in at the same time whilst you are plugging the TV back in and hold untill the standby light at the front bottom of the TV flashes a few times, then let go.
