Sky Glass 55 inch gen 2 wall mount

Can anyone recommend a suitable replacement mounting bracket for a Sky Glass 55" gen 2 TV that fits flush to the wall.  Just found out it had to be ordered at the same time as the TV. We need something very close to the wall and don't want an obvious gap you get with a tilt/swivel bracket. I don't want to go through cancelling/returning to then order again.

Any VESA wall mount is compatible with the Gen Two according to other users. You just have to make sure it (and the rawl plugs) can take the weight of the TV.

Re: Sky Glass 55 inch gen 2 wall mount

I spoke with Sky and the only way is indeed to cancel the order and reorder a new Sky Glass with the wall bracket. Seems ludicrous but this is the only way. There maybe VESA suitable tilt/swivel alternatives out there to purchase but they don't fit flush to the wall as the new second Gen one will. Apparently they will be available in the future but they can't comment on time frame.

Re: Sky Glass 55 inch gen 2 wall mount

I'm responding to this post so as not to start another about wall brackets!

Ive ordered a 2nd gen 55 inch TV  for when I move.

I'm inheriting a TV bracket which is vesa compatible and can hold the size and  weight of that TV (hopefully they have fitted it properly)

Has anyone else used this bracket or cab anyone confirm that on paper it should do the job!

Hi @Babymoo It appears to be an universal (adjustable) wall mount so it should fit the Glass Gen2.

However, I would certainly be worried that the mount has a swivel arm and with the weight of a Glass TV this will put incredible strain on the wall fixings which may not be able to hold the weight.  I have seen many photos and YouTube videos of wall mounted brackets failing.

If it was my Glass TV I would wouldn't chance it as I would be too worried about the weight when the arm is extended.  Also, I see the wall mount is rated for 20Kg and I believe the 55 inch Gen2 weights in at 22kg.

Re: Sky Glass 55 inch gen 2 wall mount

Thanks @Fothergill1. That's useful info.

I thought the 55 came in at just under 20kg without the stand.

I doubt I'd use the full swing on the bracket and probably leave it folded up for the most part but your point about it being heavy is a good one so I'll keep that in mind.

I'd just rather not start messing with new brackets and holes in the wall if I can utilise the one there.

Thank you
