Sky Glass 2 App & UI Performance
Hi,
I've had a look through the review threads and some third party reviews online but nobody has really gone into much detail on the new processor in Gen 2.
ive currently got a stream and some of the load times for apps can be long and the UI can stutter. Anyone that has the Gen 2 Glass how are the app load times and UI with the upgraded chip inside?
I'm due a new TV and am leaning towards glass.
Thanks.

Re: Sky Glass 2 App & UI Performance
I've had a Gen 1 since Dec 2021 and now have a Gen 2. Never had a problem with the app load times on either TV. Not noticed any difference in app load times between the two generations.
It is my sole TV and is connected to my router via ethernet.

Re: Sky Glass 2 App & UI Performance
I always found my gen 1 a lot snappier than my pucks ...... the gen 2 is much the same but slightly quicker than the gen 1 navigating around

I'm certain I read in a post you shared elsewhere @Jporch316 from a review of Sky Glass gen 2, that the reviewer was told by Sky it has a newer SoC than Gen 1, just not which one.

Re: Sky Glass 2 App & UI Performance
Sky, as far as I know, haven't said anything officially about processor etc. but I had the Gen 1 and now got Gen 2 and I can definitely feel a difference – just scrolling from the top of the homepage to Settings at the bottom, it doesn't lag at all, where as the Gen 1 would not only lag but something even get stuck. Also, noticeably, I can "Watch from start" and immediately pause or fast forward without it getting stuck (or without having to wait)
The whole experience just feels smoother – and I guess if they want this TV to last 4/5 years as well you're looking at it having to handle updates going to 2030, I think logically it would just need more processing power to future-proof itself.
