Have you tried a reboot? Turn it off at the wall for a minute then power it back on. Also, try some different sound settings.
If you think it may be a hardware related issue, ie the speakers are faulty, give Sky a ring and get the TV swapped if still under warranty. If you've had the TV longer than 2 years and don't have Sky Protect cover then you'll have to pay for a repair or replacement.
