Remote not turning on glass TV, having to use standby button. Ive tried new batteries and re- pairing the remote but not worked.

The remotes are abysmal. A quick scan down this forum will show you that they are probably one of the most complained about parts of the Sky Glass/Stream experience. They are cheap, mass-produced and prone to either failing completely for no reason whatsoever, not working at all from new, for having batteries explode inside them, or for Bluetooth to fail. I've had three of them in a little over a year and none of them have been perfect.

If it doesn't work then click the I still need help button at the end and there's a form to fill in to request a replacement.

@RobsonK1 Follow the advise and link provided by @Padam_Padam but if that does not cure the problem request a replacement at the following link Streaming TV replacement remote 

If you have one available you can use a Sky Q remote while you wait for a replacement.

Thankyou for your replies. Followed the steps but no joy, had to fill in new remote form. Thanks for your help.

@RobsonK1 - This was a very helpful hint! I have just installed Sky Glass and wanted a 2nd remote - as it happens I have a spare Sky-Q remote handset and indeed it does the job. Thank you!

@AJH  No problem.  Yes, it's useful as a spare. I use an old Sky Q remote as a secondary one so both my wife and I have separate control.

Re eived a new remote from Sky free of charge as still under warranty and works great now👍
