Re: Remote control sky glass no batteries in this control
Hi @IJ2 and welcome to the forum. My Samsung TV has a remote with a small solar cell on the back to keep it charged but unfortunately all Sky Glass remotes require batteries.
There is a paper tab that has to be pulled out which stops the batteries making contact during transit. Is quite frequently breaks when it is removes so I would suggest you remove the back of the remote to check. Removing the back can be VERY hard the first few times it is removed.
I find holding the remote at both ends with the buttons down and my thumbs on top and then applying pressure and pushing with one thumb and pulling with the other in the direction of the arrow is sufficient to remove the cover. Note the back only moves a few millimetres and can then be lifted off.
A number of people have found that wearing rubber kitchen gloves helps to give more purchase on the plastic components.
Have a look at THIS troubleshooting guide.
