Received my sky glass and my remote isn’t working

My new sky glass tv got delivered today after lots of messing about and booking a day and half of work (which isn't ideal as I'm self employed) once it's arrived they turned it on tv seems to be working fine but as I went to go to connect it to the wifi and what not. I noticed the remote is faulty and isn't reviving any power. I wonder if anyone else is having the same problem or any trouble with the remote and if anyone knows how to fix it as it's going to be Monday the next time I get a replacement.

Really starting to think that this Isn't worth the money at all.

@Brendan6 Have you fully removed the paper tab in the battery compartment?

There wasn't one. once I discovered it wasn't working I took the batteries that came in and replaced it with brand new ones and it's like it's dead to the world no lights or nothing, any other ideas @Deedee36
