Questions on Sky Glass Gen 2

Hi, looking to get Sky Glass Gen 2 65'' but just have a few questions. What happens to my multiroom £10.00 per month subscription when i get Sky Glass and if i need to get this 'whole room' and puck how much extra is this? Do I need to pay extra for Dolby Atmos each month? Does the wall mount from Gen 1 fit Gen 2? Will my Amazon Firestick fit in the back without causing an issue or will i need to buy a bendable cable to attach? Thanks, Mark

When you say yo have multi room, do you have Sky Q already? If so, moving over to Sky Glass/Sky STream will cancel your existing Sky Q subscription and you'll start over with Sky Glass/Sky Stream (you can't have both Sky Q and Glass/Stream at the same address).

The equivalent of multiroom on the Sky Glass/Sky Stream side is Whole Home, which is around £13 a month list price. It can often be had a little cheaper). Your first extra puck is normally free, with additional pucks for an extra £39 each. The pucks are only loaned/rented from Sky and have to be returned once your Sky TV service is cancelled..

Do I need to pay extra for Dolby Atmos each month?

Only if you want Dolby Atmos. Otherwise you'll get 5.1 sound on Sky shows/programmes/films that support it. the UHD & Dolby Atmos pack only applies to Sky's own content, so doesn't cover UHD & Atmos on Netflix, Disney+ etc.

Does the wall mount from Gen 1 fit Gen 2?

I don't think so - if you want the wall mount for gen 2 it will need to be ordered at the same time as ordering the Sky Glass gen 2 TV itself.

Will my Amazon Firestick fit in the back without causing an issue or will i need to buy a bendable cable to attach?

There are a few pics available showing the ports themselves and their location on the back of the gen 2 set. Should help to give an idea if a given device/cable is suitable or not. There are one or two photos at https://www.techradar.com/televisions/sky-glass-gen-2-review

No: the Gen 1 wall plate is also a critical component of the furniture stand, and so has a unique design.

If you currently have Sky+ or Sky Q then these services will be automatically cancelled whenever you activate a Sky Glass TV.

Your £10 multiroom subscription will cease, and all additional Sky+ or Sky Q miniboxes will stop being fully functional.

If  you want to access the Sky Streaming TV subscription you choose for the Glass TV on additional TVs in your home then you will need to add the Whole Home subscription plus an additional Stream puck for every non-Glass TV you wish to watch on.

Be aware that it is crucial that every room in which you want to have a puck has a constant fast and stable broadband connection otherwise the service simply will not work. It is your responsibility, not Sky's, to ensure that this is available.

You would need to pay extra for the UHD/Atmos pack if you want Dolby Atmos audio on Sky content.

The wall mount on gen1 Glass is different to the gen2.

An Amazon Firestick will fit in any of the HDMI ports on Glass, but be aware that the small Firestick power connector needs to be attached for the stick to function. Firesticks normally come with a small HDMI extender cable which are handy for such instances where the HDMI ports are close together.
