Only sky Glass losing wifi
Does anyone have any advice or reasons why only My Livingroom Sky Glass(1) Tv loses Wifi connection? All other devices connected to wifi; Phones, Tablet, 2nd Glass tv(2) and Puck, all remain connected with no problems. I have Sky full fiber 300 with sky wifi max. When my Glass(1) losses wifi the only way to get it to reconnect it to unplug and replug in the TV. All software is up to date, connection speed and wifi signal are all fine. It's happening every day at random times so it is very unlikely that it is due to load on the network or a drop in wifi signal since the Glass(1) is closest to the router and no other devices are affected.
Any suggestions or advwould be greatly appreciated

Re: Only sky Glass losing wifi
Try plugging in an ethernet cable and turning off the wifi in the settings (followed by a reboot)
don't have boosters ? If so your glass maybe getting confused between the two signals - try turning th boosters off temporarily to see if the problem still occurs
Worth also rebooting your router
worth also resetting the network connection on your glass and connecting back up to your wifi

Re: Only sky Glass losing wifi
Thanks for taking the time to copy and paste responses from other posts, but, if you had read my post you would have seen that the only thing affected was one of my sky glass TVs. Turning off wifi and running an ethernet cable across my living room and leaving the rest of the household with no wifi isn't exactly a constructive idea. If it was a router wifi problem then all devices would be affected.

Re: Only sky Glass losing wifi
If you are saying that each morning or any long length of time during the day in standby, your Sky Glass TV and any Sky Stream pucks you may have are not connecting to the wifi straight away on returning from standby or an overnight standby mode, then you need to do the following;
Change your Sky Glass TV and any pucks to following recommended settings set in Settings>
Set Network standby mode to ON and Overnight power saving to OFF.
Once you have made this change, you immediately need to also do the following, to ensure the options is set and saved correctly;
Go to Settings>Systems Management>Resets & Updates
Select Restart device
Your Sky Glass TV and any Stream pucks will perform a reboot. It will take a few minutes to complete.

There was no copy and pasting but there we go ......
turning the wifi off was related to the wifi on the sky glass unit - not the wifi to the entire house !!! Running the cable would be a temporary measure to see if the same issues were happening. You can always use powerline adapters to replace ethernet
the suggestions were from 3 years of having and reading similar forum posts

Re: Only sky Glass losing wifi
Hi bud, it isn't happening at the same time, its random, one day its around 10am next 7 at night following day could be 1pm. It's usually only once per day but can sometimes be 2 or 3 times but that hasn't happened very often.
I have checked that everything is updated and factory reset everything, tried switching to different channels to see if there was interference but same results. Since it's only 1 connected device that is having the problem I dont think the problem is with the Internet wifi or router.

Re: Only sky Glass losing wifi
Apologies for being snippy, I have been trying to get this fixed for over a month now and have went through every post connected to sky glass and wifi and have tried every suggestion twice but no one else seems to be having the same problem with just one device when everything else is working perfectly.

Could be a dodgy WiFi antenna inside the Glass TV itself. If you're still within the 2 year warranty you should give Sky a ring for further troubleshooting and they'll replace the TV if they agree it's faulty.

Re: Only sky Glass losing wifi
Not sure if it's possible but if you can hotspot the tv wifi to your phone and you still get dropouts this would indicate an issue with the tv

I can hot-spot the tv, i don't for the kids on holiday. Don't have unlimited data though so my phone would still be connected to the wifi

That's fine - just to test whether the tv still loses connection with a different wifi source. If it does then it's a problem with the tv

Re: Only sky Glass losing wifi
Sky can if you request it on a call. look back at your Sky Glass TV connection overtime for your Sky Glass device, if they feel it's causing such a random drop off issue.
It would be worth mentioning that you have tried all the things mentioned here and for the most part it works well.
Something to think about after you have read the following.
I would surmise it's not any kind of hardware fault, from what I have read with your problem on here.
Lets try some things.
It does seem and should show its speed and drop off your network at the random times you mention. So for a day or so, I would suggest doing the Sky Glass Netflix app Network test say every half hour or so, especially during what you think are your busiest times in your household of your network use from your Sky Glass Tv being used and other devices.
The Sky Glass TV, like a puck at times is probably going to be the most demanding of your home devices and at a busy time, your local network maybe for a short period drop off or not correctly keep your Sky Glass TV connected..
It may show some big variations in speed, that would suggest a local network hit at times, that may provide some further pointers.
What kind of wifi within in your house are you using.
Are you just using a wifi connection straight to your router for all your devices or is there some kind of mesh system being used also for some or all of your devices.
