Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Matt7575 check the audio output on your player is set to Dolby Digital or Dolby Atmos as the TV cannot handle every type of audio like DTS. If still stuck try the setting for older HDMI devices in Settings/Connected Devices/HDMI

Just tried HDMI2 and still no sound.

Also tried in HDMI3 and played around with all the settings on the blu-ray player. Could it be down to the HDMI leads? I bought the last HDMI lead around 3-4 years ago. Without having to buy a brand new blu-ray player what HDMI lead would you reckon is the best to get?

There is no 'best' HDMI cable. A cheap Amazon Basics one can provide exactly the same results as one costing ten times the price.
These HDMI 2.1 cables are fully certified and cheap:

thank you.
I've just ordered one. Hopefully it will fix the solution, cheaper than buying a new up to date blu-ray player. 😄

I doubt very much that its the HDMI cable - this issue has nothing to do with standards or bandwidth. However, if the audio portion of the cable is damaged then it could be I guess - fingers crossed

@Suskha there's nothing wrong with the current HDMI lead. It worked fine on the blu-ray player when it was connected to my Samsung SmartTV prior to sky glass being installed a couple of weeks ago.
Nothing ever goes right on the first 5 attempts with me anyway.

Unfortunately an upgraded HDMI lead didn't work either. I've tried HDMI ports 2 & 3, and settings are set to be compatible with older models. What to do now? 😞😞
Wish they would tell you all this when you're considering sky glass.

Personally, if you're within 31 days of activation I'd return it for a full refund and buy a real smart TV. Glass is marketed as being 'smarter than a smart TV' but, as you've discovered, it really isn't. A true smart TV from any of the main manufacturers (LG, Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, HiSense, Philips, etc) will offer you much greater flexibility.
