No idea I had to skip ads

Hate the new sky glass. I can't fast forward ads, and when I put things on the playlist it downloads from the apps. Eg iplayer. So what's the point of having sky? May as well have free view?

To fast forward adds you need to subscribe to the skip adds package @Gvose If your trying to watch a catch up programme from BBC then you have to watch it via the BBC IPlayer app.

Hi @Gvose

To add to @Dazzasky  response see: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/ad-skipping-sky-glass

Like most streaming platforms broadcasters want their content to remain on their platform so they can monetise it. Given skip ads let's you fast forward them on a number of platforms and skip them on sky content, it's good value for money (IMHO).

You will need the Ad skipping pack.

If you look in your MySky app or online MySky account, under Your products>Manage Home setup you will see the ad skipping pack. Often there is an offer for it free for a few months.

With the Ad Skipping TV pack, you'll be able to skip adverts using the 'Skip Ads' button when using:

  • On Demand

And fast forward through adverts when using:

  • Live Pause - up to the live broadcast only
  • Restart / 'Watch from start'
  • Playlist
  • On Demand

You can also fast forward adverts in the ITVx, STV Player, 4 and 5 TV apps.

The Ad Skipping pack doesn't mean that you won't see any adverts. It just lets you skip or fast forward through the ads using the relevant remote control buttons and on screen menu options for what you're watching. It doesn't fast forward ads in:

  • Live TV; or
  • Other TV apps, like Netflix, YouTube or Spotify.

Ad Skipping has a 31-day rolling contract.

Re: No idea I had to skip ads

@Gvose well with Freeview only you wouldn't get all the sky channels like Sky Max & Sky Atlantic with original drama from the UK and USA , Plus lots of other channels and content. You get Basic Netflix free and Discovery+ free.

You need to pay to fast forward the ads on the apps and skip the ads on Sky etc which you only get on the paid for services like itvx etc anyway. Worth the money.
