Are we still on the old... as in the launched version of Sky Glass ? Or has there been a new version ? I'm thinking of getting glass when my Q subscription comes to an end but hesitant to get it if we are still on the original version of the screen

Sky Glass is unchanged since launch in 2021. There have been no hardware changes in that time, only software updates.
You will get much better value for money and flexibility with a modern smart TV and a Stream puck attached to it.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@mattysmith There has been no updated version of Sky Glass. It is 2021 technology at 2024 prices and had at best a mediocre picture quality when it was first launched. It's best feature is the built in soundbar which whilst not earth shattering is certainly the best built in TV speaker I have come across.
As @Mister_Dalek points out a better option would be a Smart TV, soundbar and puck but depending on what you were to purchase this could be a little more expensive.
