Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreWhilst you are waiting for a new remote you could try ht following steps and hope it's a short term fix.
1. change the batteries
2. Pair the remote
Press 7 and 9 together on your Sky remote for three seconds (This resets/clears the remote)
Press 1 and 3 together for three seconds (bluetooth mode) and follow any on-screen instructions.
3. The next option sounds insane but a number of users have reported it resolving the issue with their remotes. You could try holding the remote at both ends and giving it a gentle twist as though you were wringing out a towel.

My remote popped this evening whilst in my hand. This was rather un-nerving and I immediately removed and inspected the batteries. On inspection, the batteries were in good condition but the remote does not operate correctly. I have requested a replacement. This is a major concern of safety in my view. Not a happy customer.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@RichL07 You are 100% correct the Glass and Stream remotes are absolute rubbish. I have had mine replaced once and had to use the twisting method to get it working again on 2 separate occasions.
I see you have ordered a replacement. If you have one available you can use a Sky Q remote while you wait for a replacement. I use one as a secondary remote and it must be at least 5 years old and has never given me any issues at all.

Yes, the remotes for Sky Glass/Stream are probably the worst remotes ever created for a Sky product. In all my 18 years as a customer, from Sky+ to Sky+HD to Q to Stream, the remotes on the earlier boxes all worked flawlessly for the entire life of the box, which in the case of Sky+HD was over 5 years.
I went through 3 remotes on my single Stream puck in less than a year. Two of them just stopped working for no logical reason whatsoever. The twisting method resurrected one of them temporarily but it's really not good enough - they're cheap, mass-produced trash. Sky should just ship Sky Q remotes with the pucks - they work so much better.
