Linking secondhand sky glass to my existing streaming account.
I've two pucks with Sky broadband with no issues. Recently my daughter upgraded to Sky glass air and gave me her existing Sky glass gen 1. All very nice except I can't link it to my account. I've performed a factory reset on it and although it gives me a numerical code which I enter at the correct webpage (I scanned the QR code onscreen) it fails to link despite multiple attempts.Theres nothing owing on the tv her account or mine and I've been contacting Sky now for around a fortnight with the only answer "a ticket has been raised". Now obviously I've connected one of my pucks to the tv so apart from a few minor functions I can use it but it would be nice to be able to dispense with one of the remotes as I have to have a separate one to alter the volume. So my question is;any ideas anyone???

Re: Linking secondhand sky glass to my existing streaming account.
@Paddiewack You'll need to call Sky to link the TV to your account. These are the current methods for contacting Sky. (Depending on your reason for making contact some methods will be more appropriate than others) …
🔶📞 Customer Services by dialling 150 (free) from either a Sky mobile or your Sky Talk landline.
All calls will start automated which may offer you the online help route or try to send you here to the forum. Stay on the line as long as possible and saying nothing when asked the reason for the call sometimes helps being put in the queue for an agent.
Note: if your services are restricted due to a missed payment phone contact is unlikely to work.
🔶online help via this link
https://www.sky.com/help
If necessary a number may be visible at the end of the correct help flow.
🔶 Sky Assistant should also be available via
https://www.sky.com/help
for most service issues and gives you 24/7 help and a quick response. It should provide you with multiple choice options based on your problem and will provide troubleshooting steps to fix any service issues.
🔶Social Media You can also get in touch via the messaging services on: Facebook, Instagram, or X (links at the bottom of the forum page).
Note If you’re in the ROI make sure the flag in the bottom right of the link is showing the correct flag and change if required.
43" Glass TV & Puck Whole Home
Please note I only provide help on the main forums and not via PM, PM's are switched off.
Samsung 75" 4K TV, Sky Glass Gen 2 55", Sky Stream, EE FTTC Broadband, Three 5G Broadband (Backup), Sony 7.1 AV Receiver, Technisat MultiSat receiver.

Re: Linking secondhand sky glass to my existing streaming account.
Thanks for your reply but as I've said I've been in contact with them for around a fortnight resulting in the "raising of a ticket ". If the worse comes to the worse I'll leave things as they are with two remotes (it's obviously not the end of the world) but was just on here sounding out possible ides from people who have been in similar situations to me,

@Paddiewack You could try this remove by factory reset one of your Stream pucks then try add Glass TV because when I joined Sky 3 years ago I had same issue when my daughter gave me her TV and I factory reset my puck and it got added

Now that's something I hadn't thought of. Thank you for replying. I'll do that very thing when I get home tonight and report back here.
Very grateful.

Re: Linking secondhand sky glass to my existing streaming account.
Afraid the suggestion to factory reset one of my pucks in order to link my glass tv didn't work. I'm very grateful for the suggestion though but it looks as though I'm destined to have to use two remotes unless Sky get back to me. No worries and thanks again.

Re: Linking secondhand sky glass to my existing streaming account.
It could be that the factory reset on the glass hasnt removed the device from your daughters account. Your daughter can see the devices linked to her account in the mysky app - and I think remove the device from her account in there.
If ot wounr remove - your daughter will need to call sky to get it removed from her account
