Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreJust because everything else in the house is fine doesn't mean the sky streaming platform will be.
the platform requires a consistent internet connection to function and a minimum recommended speed of 30 mbps. When the device is on it will utilise that bandwidth as it's always going to be connected to the internet whether you are streaming live channels or on demand or delayed content.
As a result of this WiFi interference can cause havoc with the glass or stream puck. If it's close to other ele tonic devices or too close to the router that can cause issues. If you have it connected via WiFi and have issues you should connect it up via Ethernet cable and turn the WiFi off in the settings. That negates a lot of the WiFi interference and has improved the service for a lot of other customers (myself included).
you can see what speed the device is getting by opening Netflix going to get help and check your network. When you are having issues I'd bet that returning a speed less than the minimum recommended of 30.

this has can help fix some intermittent issues that only occasional occur.

I have BT wifi 950mb for my business as I work from home. We have a Glass TV and 4 pucks around the house.
The pucks and tv constantly lose internet connections. BT explained that at busy times they change the frequency that the router works at and most items using the network will simply reconnect. However, the pucks and TV dont automatically reconnect on the new frequency. We constantly have to reboot the router to get the pucks to connect back to theinternet. Turning the wifi connection on and off on the pucks doesnt reset the connection. It drives us insane as happens at night when we are all in bed or when I am busy using the network for work.
Turnng the router on and off affects anybody using the network at the same time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Even though I'm connected via Ethernet directly to the router almost every time I switch the TV on it says no WiFi connection (I turned it off as I was connecting directly).
Latest issue is the remote stopped working - none of the buttons did what they were supposed to do and I have had to order a replacement - suggested resets did not work. So TV unusable until I receive it.
Paying over £65 per month for a relatively basic service that doesn't work consistently is getting frustrating.

This is exactly me! It's a lottery whether I get connection or not and I'm plugged in to the Ethernet with WiFi switched off. My remote also stopped working and I had to get a replacement. I've had Sky Glass just over a year. Saw another post where the user said a replacement TV would cost £480. Why would you have to pay for a replacement when the TV set you pay for over 4 years stops working properly after 1 ?? It's really frustrating. My firestick works fine so I end up watching Amazon prime and all the other free to air streaming platforms instead. But resent paying £65 per month for a service that doesn't work reliably.

There a 2 year warranty on the glass tv sets
