ITVX and ads

The last week or so I've been unable to skip the adverts in ITVX. We pay for ad skipping and this has always worked until now. It just keeps saying unavailable when we try.

Hi @So17 It sound as though your Glass TV has picked up a software glitch which may well clear if you do a reset procedure by going to Settings > System Maintenance > Resets & Updates and then select the Restart device option.  The procedure takes a couple of minutes during which time your screen will go blank until the Sky Logo appears.

Hi again @So17 something else to try is clearing the cache of the ITVX app.  Simply open the app and when on the ITVX homepage  enter 0 0 0 0 7 7 7.  There is no where specific to enter the code just type it into your remote when you are on the homepage of the ITVX App.

 

This clears the cache and should help resolve any issues with the specific ITVX app but whether or not it will resolve your issue is anyones guess (I have my doubts but it's worth a try and only takes a few seconds).

 

After entering the code the App should respond by saying “The storage has been cleared”.  Select OK and the App will reset and display the privacy & cookies information. Select continue.

Look on line on the itvx app page and it tells you to go add free you have to pay for itvx, if you are not paying  for itvx then you can not skip the add on the app

@peter-marlow+1966 I see the OP has add skipping so they should be able FF through the adverts on ITVX provided of course they are not watching a programme live.  I've certainly not had any problems skipping the ads on ITVX.

I use itv app regularly.

Not had any recent issues of ff the ads in the ITVX app with multiple series, films or programmes all launched from my playlist on Sky Stream.

Not seeing any watch from start issues on the live itv channels either, that do not launch into the ITVX app.

Not sure if you have tried.

But try a restart of your broadband/hub router and then do an apps refresh in the settings on your Sky Stream puck.

The app refresh can take up to 24 hours to complete.
