I can't trust pausing my Sky glass
When I pause my Sky glass I can't be sure how long it's going to hold.

Re: I can't trust pausing my Sky glass
@MINDY Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately if you pause live TV it will not stay paused for very long. I have never timed it but it only holds for about 5 or 6 minutes. If I am likely to be away from the paused TV for longer than 5 minutes I simply rewind it about 10 minutes or so and then leave it playing. When I get back I can then FF or RW as necessary to get back to the point I stopped watching (this would be less stressful if the FF/RW worked better than it does).
It holds much longer if watching on demand TV.

Re: I can't trust pausing my Sky glass
@Exiled-in-HH I estimated 5-6 minutes as I generally have enough time to go to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee. If I get distracted by the time I return to the TV it is no longer paused 😫

Re: I can't trust pausing my Sky glass
They do indeed claim 45 mins @Exiled-in-HH.
"You can pause live TV and rewind on a TV channel on Sky Glass for up to 45 minutes, by pressing the Play or Pause button on the Sky remote.
After the 45 minutes is up, the programme will then continue to play from the point you paused it."

Unless 'up to' has that typically slippery double meaning:
a) 'up to' 45 minutes as in any length of time of the users choice before that limit.
b) 'up to' 45 minutes based on the bitrate of the content, with a much shorter maximum time being inevitable for higher density material.

Re: I can't trust pausing my Sky glass
But in a reasonableness test most reasonable people would agree that 10 minutes is not anywhere near 45. If it's not capable of doing 45 minutes it should be advertised as such.
They haven't even qualified it with may be less depending on content paused etc.
