Help with repair on a broken Sky Glass TV screen.

I was vacuuming using a plug in behind my  lovely medium Sky Glass TV. My little Yorkie was chasing the vacuum cleaner as she hates the noise.  The cord got tangled up and and I pulled it. The television started to topple and I grabbed the dog instead of trying to stop the TV. It fell off the stand and the centre top of the screen caught an antique wooden sewing box causing a dent in the centre of the screen near the top. To begin with, there were just some lines across there to of the picture. However, more when we turn it on it seems to get worse every time. Have any of you had to have a screen repair? Did you use Sky or a private technician? Any help would be appreciated. I bought the television for husband to watch his football and right now it's quite useless.

Sounds like a home insurance claim would be appropriate if you have accidental damage cover, that would likely get you a replacement TV.

As the liquid crystal display of such a television is its single biggest and most complex component, 'repair' by replacing the panel usually isn't an economically viable option once the cost of obtaining the component itself is taken into account unless an identical television which has failed for a different reason can acquired cheaply.
