We have attached our EE tv box to HDMI 2 (we have something in HDMI 1 and because of placing it's difficult to get out).
what I would like to ask is:
Does my EE box need to be plugged into HDMI 1 for the remote to control the TV on and off and volume?
YES I have tried on several occasions to pair and connect TV to EE BOX but it doesn't work.
is this just Sky Glass making things difficult or does the HDMI chosen make a difference?

@Catherine3 whether the EE bix can cotrol the Glass TV is nit down to the HDMI input you use but whether thee EE remote can either be programmed to use the right commands which I doubt or it spports HDMI CEC correctly which some do and some dont. The only setting on the Glass TV which is rellevant is making sure HDMI control is set to on in the Start up and Standby section.

Re: HDMI 1
@biddy1888 It should do provided there's a free HDMI port.

Firestick's are normally sold with an included small HDMI extender cable - these make it easy to attach the Firestick to TV's with slightly awkward or inaccessible HDMI ports.
