So, I just received a Glass and 4 pucks yesterday.
Apart from not playlisting a lot of BBC shows , which I knew was a possibility as I'm in Ireland, this evening the Glass wouldn't work as it said it had no Wi-Fi connection. But it's wired via an Ethernet cable and there was Wi-Fi in the room anyway.
Anyone else have this issue?
Not a great start really.

If using wired ethernet with Sky Glass or wired ethernet Sky Stream Pucks
Make sure you turn off Wifi in network advanced settings on Sky Glass/Sky Stream Pucks if you not going to be using Wifi connection with either Sky Glass or Sky Stream Pucks
Settings
Network
Advanced
Wifi set to Off
Reason for this is the network on Sky Glass/Sky Stream will look for a Wifi connection before using wired ethernet this can result sometimes getting the no wifi connection message on screen
You stop it looking for a Wifi Connection by turing off wifi in Sky Glass/Sky Stream Network settings
Also make sure in standby settings on Sky Glass and Sky Stream
Settings
Startup and standby
Network Standby set to on
With Sky Glass and Sky Stream you will get better performace if you use wired ethernet and not Wifi
Which broadband provider are you with in Republic of Ireland and what's your download and upload speed from your router and how many devices in your home would be using your broadband connection same time
You might have issues if you not got enough download and upload speed to cover multiple devices in use same time if you going to be using Sky Glass and all 4 Sky Stream pucks same time and other devices are using the broadband connection same time
I have Siro fibre broadband with Digiweb 1000 Mbps download and 200 Mbps upload
So multiple devices using my broadband not a issue
In regards to BBC
It's BBC tile to access on demand content it's not a app like BBC iplayer
You will find BBC on demand tile
Home menu in TV Shows section
BBC only provide a limited amount of content that will be available as On Demand in Republic of Ireland
Majority of BBC broadcasts you will have to watch live
Over time there might be more on demand content made available by BBC but it's very limited at the moment
It's BBC that decide what on demand content is made available not Sky Ireland
Aiden if you need any more help in using Sky Glass or have questions you can Private message me
As in what live channels broadcasts and on demand content in Republic of Ireland will work to add to playlist for playback etc and any other issues you want know about
I work nights so might not get to reply sometimes during day time
I also based in Republic of Ireland and been using Sky Glass/Sky Stream Pucks since August 2022
I was one of the first customers in Republic to use Sky Glass and had installed before the official launch date in Republic of Ireland
Sky Glass/Sky Stream there is differences between UK and Republic of Ireland in regards to apps that are available and content that will be available
Example we don't get ITV Channels or ITVX App
Virgin Media Channels in Republic of Ireland has broadcast rights to a lot of ITV content

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI have my glass unit hardwired and WiFi turned off
I still occasionally get a "no internet connection " error . Pull the plug for a few seconds normally resolves it
I have my glass plugged into a smart plug to save the effort of moving from my settee

Thanks @Paul+Boland , I'll adjust the settings tonight when I get home.
I was aware in advance of the BBC shortcomings, but I wanted to try it out for myself and see if it was liveable with. The content is quite limited and disappointing to be honest, very much scarcer than Id have hoped for , while knowing that it wasnt going to be comprehensive.
I think the BBC tile in ireland is only paying lip service to availability. At this early stage, I'd say if someone wants to time shift BBC shows, then Glass / Stream isnt going to be suitable. I'd also have genuine doubts as to whether it will ever improve, I cant see there being a desire by the BBC to make shows free in Ireland when its funded by UK licence payers. And as was said, they would prefer to sell the rights to a local broadcaster like RTE.
We do a lot of time shifting and watching later due to general busy lives, so unfortunatly we dont watch live mostly. Theres a possibility that Glass / Stream may not work for us, hence Im open minded and using the trial period to see. We have a Humax box however so we could record the BBC shows which are not Playlistable.
Its definitely a more moden interface on Glass , I like that we dont have the "more than two miniboxes in use" message any more, and its just a neater system than Q.
I was a very early adoptor of Q back in 2016, and lived through the growing pains with it in the early days - I had hoped by waiting a year that Glass would have been well bedded in and it seems to be in some ways, and not in others.
Also, yes ITV is ok, as Virgin Media seem to have the bulk of their shows, if a little later.
We have 500 down and 50 upload fibre to the home, so no speed issues.

@Jporch316 yes, seems that was the message last night - also have a Technical Issue error message this morning, so my wife said - I'll check it out tonight when I get home.

So having both of these error messages, one on the Glass, the other on a Puck.
