Girls' football gets a boost – Let’s talk about the Alessia Cup!
We’re excited to share that Sky has teamed up with England and Arsenal forward Alessia Russo and the amazing charity Goals 4 Girls to launch The Alessia Cup a nationwide football tournament for teenage girls.
This is all about creating more opportunities for young women to get into sport, especially those from underserved communities. With 280 million hours of sport missed by girls each year compared to boys, we think it’s time for change and we’re proud to be part of it.
We’re also calling for a National Girls and Women in Sport Day to celebrate the power of sport and the role it plays in shaping futures.
