EPG ability to go backwards

I find the ability to be able to go backwards on virgin media EPG very useful. I wonder why Sky have never brought this in to the EPG on Glass or Stream ? Also why Sky removed the ability to programme alerts. Again this is still on VM

Not sure why but it's not been on any previous sky box I've had going back through q skyHD or sky plus 

I do have it on my freeview box though 

I guess in my case if I've never had it I don't really miss it although I can see how it can be useful ......
