Hi @Alan823 that can happen depending on the show that is being broadcast on that channel at the time. Due to the broadcasting rights the channel has, it may not be permitted to show that particular programme "live" via online streaming. Quite likely the channel has only on-line on-demand rights to the show, so you should be able to watch that show via the channel's on-demand service.
I'd imagine over the next couple of years this issue will get sorted as new rights and broadcast deals are signed. Online streaming of channels will be the future, so most new broadcasting rights deals will start to include "live" channel streaming rights for it as well.
