Dare I Say.......

...... things are getting better!

I first switched to stream in September so no way an early to launch uptake. I thought by September ish it would be stable with the goodies to be added over the coming months/year, but oops misjudged that one I genuinely believed I'd walked into a Beta application. The first few months were rough to get to grips with dreadful picture quality with Glass and bug after bug with Glass and Stream.

I'm now six months in and can finally forget Q and even find I'm using my Apple TV less.

  • The Glass TV is what it is and I'd recommend it as a bedroom TV all day. Sorry but it is not smarter than a smart TV. Personally I couldn't live with it as the main TV but I'm all for the best quality and I've always been an LG fan.
  • Sports I understand to be an issue but I'm not at all interested in Sport but I read there are still many issues.
  • Stream picture quality is outstanding in fairness and a major selling point, I'm surprised Sky doesn't promote this more.
  • The UI does bombard you with information and can appear very cluttered and garish with all these enhanced popping colours but I have come across programs I may not have seen otherwise.
  • Netflix, finally the app has updated and I'm no longer getting the black screen and with items now on CW rail on the home screen it feels more integrated. But you still can't add items from a search needing to search for actors or directors etc. instead.
  • ITVX is still not right but I suspect that's ITV, ondigital, itv hub when will they get it right. The AD breaks need to be resolved urgently especially for itvx premium customers.
  • Playlist works for adding & removing but the watched blue bar still hit n miss, well more miss and the latest to earliest listing still don't work and availability is all over the place, this is probably down to the providers but it's Sky who need to get this resolved for their customers.
  • Complete Watching has improved as in items can be removed with a faff like FF to the ends of the program but the ability to remove items needs to be much more user friendly and quick.
  • Profiles I don't use but from what I've read again further work required.
  • AD skipping, aaarrgghh cheap shot to charge for this function that's messy and should be AD free if charged.
  • TV Guide still has problems with blank spaces but it is improving and it's not from lack of info from providers as sometimes programs from that evenings content can be missing.
  • Voice is OK, don't use it a great deal as it can be quite hit n miss.
  • Integration between devices, the jury still out on this one, sometimes OK but not always.

All that said it is far more stable and now has a solid base on which it can squash more bugs, add new features and generally improve!

Re: Dare I Say.......

A well thought out post @Anonymous , must admit the picture quality on stream is top notch, though agree with @Jporch316  I think the profile's work very well, my other half actually had them set up before i got home, and it's a doddle to add and remove programmes and films from your your own profile,

This is definitely the future of TV and Sky now have the base work for an amazing product,

@Anonymous

All valid observations.

Playlist works well for us too and is so easy to use. I agree with the UI though - It needs toning down a bit, sometimes the amount of information can be quite overwhelming, with a lot of it duplicated on sub pages. Once they fix the CW rail frustrations, I will re-add it. It needs to be much simpler to remove content, much in the same vain of how easy it is to add content.

If I’ve helped today, give me a like.

Sky Stream and whole home.

@Anonymous Another excellent post.  I have to say that Sport seems to be improving (F1 coverage so far this weekend has been problem free for me).

Unfortunately after updates QS014 & 15 my Glass was initially a little less stable but for the last couple of days it has been back to normal 🤞).

With regards to the Continue Watching rail, I have noticed that since they integrated Netflix all of the programmes that had been stuck in my rail for weeks have now disappeared just leaving those that should be there which is great news.

The future of TV is getting there slowly 😀
