Hi just thought I would post this if anyone is unsure or thinking about getting Sky Glass, as my set has just gone bang, this is my review/ opinions.
i got Sky Glass quite early on as at the time this was the only way of getting Sky tv without having a dish. You could add the Sky pucks but only if you got the glass tv. The looks and build quality of the tv are great and it seems very premium but unfortunately that is where the good stuff ends. My set has been plagued with problems the entire time I have had it. The picture quality is not great especially for a premium price tv and I have had multiple picture issues outside of how it actually looks. Picture banding has been a regular occurrence and almost a white foggy look which no amount of picture tweaking can ever fix. For context my other tv is an lg oled which is much better, much older and is still going many years later. I also got lip sync issues, screen freezing all the time etc. It just isn't very good. Sky always blame your broadband, even though I have super fast broadband and have everything connected by Ethernet.
The other day I turned it on and just got red vertical lines going across the screen, very pretty but very wrong. I tried the recovery process a few times and that just put different colour vertical lines across the screen. The tv is dead. Now of course I am still paying for this monthly until November 2025 but the tv is of course out of warranty. I contacted Sky but they only offered me the chance to buy another Sky Glass which I am not going to do as I don't think the product is fit for purpose. Plus I'm very annoyed that this tv has only lasted 3 years. I could have been unlucky but I doubt it as there are many other bad reports on these forums. This experience has made me seriously considering getting rid of Sky completely.
My advice is if you have to have Sky just get the Sky stream box as if this goes wrong it is not a massive financial outlay. Do not buy Sky glass, get a 4k tv from LG Sony etc and add the stream box. You will regret getting Sky Glass believe me, I know I do.

If you had come to the forum before trying a factory reset, you would have been advised that resetting is only as a last resort and should only be done when recommended by Sky.
In terms of lines on the screen, these have been reported a few times and can be caused by software, temporary hardware fault or full on failure. In the first instance unplug you TV from the mains for at least 10 minutes and see if this clears the issue. If not, try leaving unplugged overnight as there have been reports that this has fixed it.
Sky do have a repair partner who can fix issues out of warranty (except screen replacements) see: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-glass-tv-repairs
When you say Sky offered you a new TV? They usually offer a refurbished model at a discounted price. If you feel that Sky should handled this differently you can always make a formal complaint: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/how-to-make-a-complaint

Hi yeah I did contact Sky before trying the reset, I actually did it with them on the phone but to no avail. I also left it unplugged for over a week and turned it on again, no joy. I must just be very unlucky. They did offer me a refurbished set but I don't really have any confidence that another one will be any good. It's just incredibly frustrating

Any TV can fail ... I had a very expensive LG oled TV fail within 3 years of purchase BUT had a 5 year warranty so it was repaired for free🤔
Never own an expensive TV that isn't covered by at least a 5 year warranty/insurance ... Sky have Sky Protect Device insurance😉

Anyway I have Glass and it works just fine for me - as it will for many, many others.

Try the repair service link mentioned above ...... might be a lot cheaper than a new tv

Typical contents insurance won't cover such a failure: it would if the set fell over though.

If the Glass TV is not of satisfactory quality, as described, fit for purpose, and does not last a reasonable length of time, @Dheff666 the OP may have recourse to a Small Claims Court.
This is the mantra of a famous TV and radio commentator who discusses at length consumer rights and tips to save money.
