Has anyone spotted a noticeable difference in the image quality on all channels today on Glass? It appears as though the picture has gone through some additional de-blocking filter to hide compression artefacts. Images are appearing ever so slightly 'posterised.'
Has anyone else noticed this today or am I losing the plot?! Have tried rebooting the TV and 4K content in the Netflix and Prime apps seems unaffected. No WiFi or connection issues either.

Posted by a Sky employeeHi Everyone
Thanks for your patience whilst we worked through this. This problem should now be resolved as we've pushed the update to all Sky Glass TV's. We recommend resetting your picture settings. If you're using custom like I am, I took a screenshot of the page prior to the reset.
I'm marking this thread as answered/resolved and thanks again for highlighting this issue for us.

I just noticed it. It seems to be since the QS016 update. It's really distracting. It's almost like a social media effect.

Yep, just noticed I'm on the new software too which could be what has caused it. It's almost as if the higher quality feed isn't 'kicking in' after a few seconds like it normally does.
Although also noticed it on HD content on Amamzon Prime and on catch up services too which potentially points at it being an image processing change on the actual screen itself. Can't say it's noticeable on 4K content.

Yeah, I first noticed it on iPlayer and thought it was an issue with the app at first. Sky Sports News is particularly bad. If I watch it on Sky Go the difference in quality is huge.
Like you say, 4K doesn't seem to be affected (or at least, if it is it's not as noticeable). I'm using Apple TV as much as possible for the catch-up and apps.

Has anyone else noticed that the picture quality has regressed since update 16?
Thought it was just me initially but the Masters in UHD is poor, chopped onto a few different pictures and it's definitely not sharp.
Ive had Glass for over a year so I'm well versed in the trials and tribulations.... Now back to pre update 13 standards at the minute.
C'mon Sky - U've tried to sort one issue and created another with update 16 so far

Yep, I posted about this a couple days ago. Looks as though the software update has resulted in a change to image processing on the screen - there's less detail showing overall in the image on all HD content as dad as I can tell. Skin particularly seems much less defined. Out of focus areas now look more 'cartoony.'
To be honest can't say I've noticed much of a difference on 4K content - but there's already more detail in that to begin with anyway.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI received the QS016 update last night and I actually thought my picture was a little sharper although a bit too bright.

I'm glad this has been highlighted as I thought it was just me.
I watched Liverpool and Chelsea on UHD on Sky Sports (interestingly it said Dolby Atmos but no recognition of said uhd feed).
The picture quality of that has certainly taken a step backwards..

Like the posts above I haven't noticed it as much on 4K content but the change in HD quality is really noticeable. Some of it is unwatchable now. I've already started looking at buying a new tv.

Posted by a Sky employeeThe posts might look out of sync - this is because I've merged both thread together so that the issue can be tracked

BT Sport picture quality is a big step down for me. Especially when compared to sky sports

Since Sky Glass has been updated to software version QS016.007.00P I feel the picture quality has degraded considerable. Almost to the point that I am going to ring Sky and complain. Everything isn't as sharp as it used to be and background objects have cartoon style effects. Has anyone else had this or noticed this? Absolutely appalling! I've tried Netflix and watched content in there and that seems absolutely fine

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@David83 There have certainly been other posters on the community who have complained that the quality decreased after the QS016 update and others who say it is improved. Personally I find my picture is sharper than before but is now too bright (especially on UHD) so I have have to amend my picture settings slightly.

I came on here just to make sure it wasn't just me who thought the picture had changed. The picture looks like a poor Photoshop filter. HD now looks like an oil painting upscaled from 720p.
