After selecting a live Channel a black square remains obscuring live TV, but isn't present on menu screen, Netflix, Disney etc. How can this be resolved please (other than switching on and off again).

It would appear to be a software glitch if it's not there all the time. Powering off at the mains for a few minutes would be the only way to clear it. This isn't a widespread issue, so if it keeps re-appearing, I would suggest speaking to Sky and asking for a replacement under warranty.
You can also restart your glass via the settings menu (settings > system management > resets & updates > restart device). Might be worth seeing if that clears it without having to finish around the socket.
