Sky cancellation - Father with Alzheimer's

I have had a really difficult week dealing with Sky and I am genuinely overwhelmed. This account is in my mother's name and is for my parents residence. My father has alzheimers and a few weeks ago was diagnosed with an aggressive form or prostate cancer. My mother is obviously not taking any of this well but also has her own health isses as she was admitted into hospital a couple of weeks ago.

My parents moved property temporarily and the initial move of Sky TV Q + Broadband was doing quickly and efficiently. The move back has been a colossolal nightmare.

The first major issue was that the actual first move was not 'completed on Sky's system'. Translated this resulted in a lot of issue but let me summarise

Told that I have to cancel Broadband and re-order (this turned out to be a blessing).

The engineer that came to help with the Sky TV Q did visit and ended up (bless her, very helpful) to tell my mother its best to get Sky Stream rather than Sky TV Q due to changes in their property (wiring, cables, sockets etc). This is fine by me and I go back to the blessing part, as it made me find full fibre broadband fast enough for Sky Stream). So this now meant to be a Sky TV q to Sky Stream transition.

There were many phone calls with different Sky people in different countries etc, but I made my way back to the retention team and he de-escalated etc. And then he transferred me to a Sky Stream person.

My Sky TV Q contract had various discounts and not expiring until end of August 2026, and I was told I could get some of the discounts that are on offer to new Sky Stream customers (Black Friday), given the inability to get engineers etc. The last person I spoke to, however quoted me a price that was ridiciolous. It is at least 40 pounds per month higher than if I took any Black Friday deals. (and my parents existing Sky Q also had discounts). I was not angry at her but I did cancel and happy to pay the 30 day notice.

The problem is that I am now stuck with a father's whose brain has memorised certain shows on TV at certain times and he doesn't even listen to them, but they are now without Sky TV cause I got angry with the xth person I spoke to from Sky who bascially made me cancel.

I am not sure what to do now. And I know that calls to Sky are a literal lottery with most of the time, ending up with unhelpful people. They have been with Sky for 7 years (this time round).

Account belongs to vulnerable parents. They had to move temporarily due to essential rennovations, the moving back has been a nightmare with Sky. Resulted in misunderstandings and disagreements and being asked to pay even more --- cancellation. Reality is, now I just don't know what I can do really. I am upset with both Sky and myself.
