Sky Go Troubleshooting Tips

Sky Go App not working as it should? Check out our common troubleshooting steps:

 

Recordings on the Sky Q Box via the Sky Go app 

 

  • Check if anything changed on your package; have you cancelled / changed anything? This might be affecting your viewing experience.

  • Are you on the same Broadband connection that your Sky Q box is on?

  • Have you tried rebooting your Q box? Turn off the Q box at the wall, delete the Sky Go app and turn off your device. Wait 10 minutes, turn both back on and re-install the app.

 

Sky Go OSM 'You've reached the maximum number of people in your household who can watch content online at the same time'

 

  • Try rebooting the device the app is installed on

  • Check your package. Sky Go customers can stream on 2 devices. while Sky Go Extra and Multiscreen/Sky Glass can stream on 4 devices.

 

Change my Sky Go password to stop certain people using it

 

 

  • First change your password: https://skyid.sky.com/resetpassword/
  • Then go to this link: https://skyid.sky.com/authorise/manage
  • If you tick "Sky Apps" and then the remove button, then anyone using SkyGo or SkyNews or SkySports apps etc. using your credentials will have the previous auth token removed and will be forced to sign in again (using the new password only you know). Will mean people you want to use your ID will need to do the same, but will force whoever is using your previous details off, this might not stop them straight away but it will over a day or so.

 

Sky Go error code 1204

 

  • Did you activate Sky Go Extra today? If so give it 24 hours as it can sometimes take a while for it to fully activate on the account and thus allow you to use the Sky Go app on your device.
  • If you have Sky Glass as well as having Sky Go Extra you also need to have the Sky Glass Whole Home package before you can use the Sky Go app on a console as it states here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/what-is-sky-go-extra

 

Sky Go error code 1310

 

  • If you left Sky and then returned, and are using your old login - it needs to be changed.

  • If you want to use the same email address then you need to first remove it from the old account first so log into the old account here: https://www.sky.com/myaccount/my-details

  • Then delete the email address by providing another one and logout of this account, this will then free it up to use when setting up your new Sky ID: https://www.sky.com/help/diagnostics/sky-id/sky-id
