iOS Sky Sports News App

Hello,

Not a major problem but annoying nonetheless. On iOS (iPhone), I used to have a Sky Sports News widget on the summary screen which showed the top 4 news articles of the app. This has now disappeared and I can't see an option to re-add it. The App Store says the app is up-to-date so I'm not sure if the issue is on Sky's end or Apple's.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi all,

Thank you everyone for sharing your shared interest around the iOS Sky Sports News App widget.

In May we released a new Sky Sports App.  As part of that release the iOS widget feature was sadly not included as part of the roadmap.

That being said, we welcome user feedback and interest and if you do have a wish to see this return then please do let us know in a comment on this thread below 🙂

Along with that, if there is anything else you would be interested in seeing developed in future for the app then feel free to share as well!

I'm marking this as the best answer for this just now.

Thanks,

Daniel

I would email the apps team to ask them about this - apps@sky.uk

Re: iOS Sky Sports News App

@CameronRiddel Same man. Happened to me too like maybe two weeks ago when there was an update to the app. The whole Sky Sports app has changed and I think they removed the widget feature. Really annyoing tbh as I was able to see all the major/top headlines/breaking news at a glance without having to open the app. Then if there was something I wanted to read more on I'd click on it from there. After this I havent been on the app apart from a few push notifications that I found interesting.

It would be really great to get it back. Please let me know if you get any updates from the App Team if you've reached out to them.

Thanks

Re: iOS Sky Sports News App

Yes mate that is the exact issue that I have. I'm glad it wasn't a unique problem on my end.

I received an email from the Sky Apps team saying that they'll look into it and get back to me when it's resolved. I'll reply to you if I hear anymore.

Re: iOS Sky Sports News App

I would visit the sky sports app several times a day with the widget, as I'd see the top stories and if anything was of interest, I would go on it.

since the widget has been removed, I'd say I visit once or twice a week.

Re: iOS Sky Sports News App

I would definitely like to see this return

I miss it and there's no other sports news widget I can use

Re: iOS Sky Sports News App

Yes please bring it back. I never ho on the app. That feature was the only reason I'd go on the app.
