Hi I use the SkyPlus app and recently my favourite channels have disappeared, all it says is "data unavailable please try again later".
I'm blind and rely on my favourite channels list on the app to control the TV.
It's so much easier and quicker to scroll down them and my phone speaks the channel that we are on.
Can anyone help please? I just want to know if this issue will be resolved.
I know Sky plus Hd is very old but I have tried sky Q and found it too hard to navigate.
Thank you in advance for any help.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIt is bad news I'm afraid as Sky are closing this app come May and have certain features will stop working before then which might be why you can no longer see them via the app.

Thank you so much for your reply.
Do you know of any alternative app other than Sky Go please?

Is this decision final or can it be appealed against please?

Well thank you very much for your help but they have lost a customer here, as I said before I've tried sky Q, impossible to navigate with limited vision.
I'm sure there will be many customers thinking the same way

In my honest opinion, it's a terrible decision on Sky's part.
I wonder if they realise how many people use the app on a daily basis. It really is the best app they've created and it seems such a shame to see it neglected.

I totally agree with you, 100%, it is, or was a fantastic app.
When this app finally does get scrapped, there will be nothing for Sky+.
Thanks Sky, a soon to be ex customer.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreSky+ HD hardware hasn't been manufactured since 2015 and new subscriptions for it ceased to be available by 2020: it's not particularly surprising that app support is ending now.

The sky app is going through severe issues. It's been this way for nearly or just over two months now for me anyway. It's not working for a lot of people, we're all asking for help on the board regarding this error. A few managed to get through via email and they're being told to basically wait until they get it fixed and be patient. I guess all we can do is wait and see if the app gets fixed or not, but two months on and still not fixed doesn't fill me with confidence that it will be fixed any time soon.

The thing is, the Sky Go app works with Sky HD... I've just used it to set 2 programs to record tonight. The problem is, it's an awful experience. The timeline lags dreadfully, days, inexplicably end at midnight, and there's no way to show favourites; channels just seem to be randomly displayed.
If they could just integrate the Sky+ planner into the Sky Go app, I think we'd all be happy.

As I've observed in similar threads, the current Go app is descended from what was the Q app: it's very unlikely to get Sky+ functionality, particularly as Sky would prefer to be rid of Sky+ entirely.

@bostender re
I had this problem too. The solution I've found is a bit convoluted so you might need assistance if you have restricted vision. You need to delete and reinstall the app. Sky haven't made that easy as the app no longer shows in the app store, so the following work-around is needed.
1. Delete the Sky+ app from the iphone/ipad (click and hold until it starts wobbling and press the x)
2. Open the app store.
3. Click on the icon with your picture in the top right.
4. Click on purchased
5. Click on not on this iphone (or ipad)
6. Find the Sky+ app in the list and click on the cloud symbol to download again.
7. Open the Sky+ app and the listings should be back
You will probably need to sign into your account again and give the app permissions to access your network to look for the Sky+ box.
Hopefully that'll fix it, it has on 2 devices I've tried.
Dave.

Hi Dave that's brilliant thank you.
My only concern is that if I delete the app and can't find it in the pre-purchased list, it will be gone forever.
If I delete it, will it definitely be in the list?
has it worked for you every time?
