So how do I connect to my skyhd+ box in the future and control it from my iPad like I do now?

You will not be able to but you can still send remote requests to it via the Sky Go app as you can do now.

Remote request? Not sure what you mean? Are you referring to recordings? 
Occasionally I watch my sky tv in another room via a cable run from the RF out. Therefore not possible to use the remote to change channels etc without walking between rooms.. However, I am able to use my phone via the Sky+ app to change channels etc.

Will I be able to do this when the app is discontinued?  I cant see anyway to do this from the Sky Go app.

Officially no but you might find it still work after the 31st May but it will be a case of waiting to see what happens,

Its like everything SKY does, i.e.....badly thought out decisions, technology and features that are YEARS behind the competition (just compare and watch live sport through the sky go and bt/tnt sport apps and you'll see) and every decision made has the customer least thought of.

The Sky Go app DOES NOT have the ability to set up future recordings or reminders, just records straight away, and DOES NOT let you set up "series" recordings or reminders either, which is sooo annoying.....But...NOT AS ANNOYING as not being able to change channels from the viewing screen, like EVERY other TV app does! 😡🤬 Instead, Sky thought it would be easier to have to come out of the viewing screen, go through the channel list, click on the channel and wait for the viewing screen to reload again, when watching multi sports at the weekend etc you end up missing loads of action, and then to compound it, you can't rewind to see any goals etc. I know you can on the Sky sports app, but what if the sport is on ITV or Eurosport? Why can't I just have a channel chooser down the side of the viewing screen, so I can keep watching while I browse for my next channel? I'll tell you why, cos the devs of this app are thick with no clue what the customer wants or what would make their app more user-freindly. Its beyond stupid.

@TALLPAUL713 just for your information the Sky go app Can record programmes in the future and can set series links,  by clicking on the screen laptop/pc  or touching the screen of your phone/tablet you can choose to rewind 10 seconds at a time 

Personally I don't want a channel chooser down the side of my app it would spoil the viewing for me

I realise that Sky no longer supports Sky+ app and hasnt done so for a long time, but I kept it on my Samsung S22 as I like the EPG much more than the current channel listings guide.  The ability to see many channels offerings in a grid was simple and convenient.   I also have the pretty limited Sky Go app.   I  recently changed my phone and although the Sky+ app transferred over with all my other apps it is totally dead and unresponsive.  Seems like I just have the home screeni mage.  Is there a way to get this working again does anybody know?  Obviously it is not available to download from any App store.
