Exactly what I said to my partner. You watch, it'll be the satellite dishes taken away from us next.... hold on, what's that?  2029 called... " be prepared ".

@Mr+Ripley

Sky won't take away the satellite dishes, you can rest easy there.

Thats because ownership of the dish transfers to the householder so is their property.

My mistake, dodgy line from 2029, it's only the satellites they want. 😉

Re: Sky TV Guide Website https://www.sky.com/tv-guide/

Just wanted to add my couple of cents in here regarding this change. As an Irish customer, Sky's TV Guide was essential

We use Manual Channels so we can receive UTV (ITV1 Northern Ireland) and HD versions of other channels that are not on Sky Ireland for some very weird reason.

The guide is essential to finding out what is on in other BBC/ITV regions, as sometimes the schedule in Northern Ireland is different from other regions.

Case in point 2 weeks ago: "Who do you think you are?" was supposed to be on Wednesday at 9pm on BBC 1, but was replaced by the football, but only in the Northern Ireland region. (They changed to late night on a Thursday/Friday)

My mam doesn't care for the football... She wanted to watch "Who do you think you are?" Using the very helpful Sky TV guide, I was able to change the region and found that the program was on BBC1 London... So I manually added that channel and then she viewed it.

Now, this wouldn't have been a problem at all if we were living over the border... as then she would have been able to view it on BBC iPlayer.

Here is the kicker: BBC iPlayer (And ITVX for that matter) are not available in Ireland. (Some ITV programming is covered by Virgin Media Player, but it's very lackluster)

So the TV Guide is essential to find out what is on UTV and see if there is any region flip-flopping from other broadcasters.

Please consider bringing it back in some capacity.

@Crakila So you are complaining that Sky are no longer aiding you to obtain content you should not have access to in the first place?

If you were surposed to have access to BBC One London then it would be in your boxes channel list and TV Guide

@Annie+UKSky gives us the ability to add channels via the Manual Channels section of the SkyQ box. We're just utilising a tool that is available legitimately. If Sky has an issue with that, maybe they should remove that, don't you think?

Regardless, that issue is beyond the scope of this thread.

@Crakila  I hope you get to see this reply as it may be the answer you're looking for. Since Sky got rid of their online EPG last week, I have been using RadioTimes.com, which is very good. If you take a look at the 3 screenshots below, you will see they have listings for all BBC & ITV regions, including N.Ireland & UTV.

When you go to the site where the TV listings are, you will see a sentence written in purple that says " Choose channels and regions.... ". Click on the down arrow to reveal the boxes you need for the various regions. Hope it helps. Screenshots are in reverse order; look at the last one first.

As the majority of people here complaining, myself included, are sky customers, why do you think they've done this to upsell?

Doubt it. More likely it was removed for reasons of low 'footfall' and maintenance costs.

Re: Sky TV Guide Website https://www.sky.com/tv-guide/

The TV guide was never particularly advertised or ever implemented into the Sky website in modern times, it was always off side from the main site since Sky.com became less of a homepage for everything (Sky News, Sky Sports, etc.) to just primarily being a website to sell Sky in the mid 2010s. There's web archives out there that do show how the TV Guide and listings used to be a priority for Sky but that seems to no longer be the case.

I do still think that Sky not issuing a statement or putting this on the page of redirect is really poor on their part, because many customers would have completely understood the rationale, even if it's short sighted. It's still a massively stupid decision and Sky could've been better offering their TV guide API to an affiliate website.

I am very disappointed that you have discontinued the TV guide online. For goodness sake, put it back. It worked, it keeps users happy. I often want to see what's on BEFORE I turn to TV on. I will view less if I can't plan my viewing.

Is viewing less a bad thing?

@PC662  Not to worry, check out RadioTimes.com - You'll find a similar TV guide there. I've been using it for a few days now & it's working for me. You can choose exactly what channels you have listed by using the drop-down boxes ( see an earlier post of mine on this thread with screenshots ). I know what you mean about planning your viewing, I used the old Sky online EPG on a daily basis.

Re: Sky TV Guide Website https://www.sky.com/tv-guide/

One can still use the old, discontinued Sky+ app for Android. It's not available in the Google Play Store, but external app stores still have it.

The listings are all there and one can change region if they wish to see listings for a different region. When you open it for thie first time, select "Use Sky+ without signing in".  You can no longer add favourites. But I use it for manual tuning channels like ITV, ITV2, More4 +1, etc that are not available in Ireland.  Also ensure the region selected is in HD (eg. London HD) or it might not show  free-to-air HD channels like BBC One HD, etc.

Or if one prefers to see their own region only, one can use the Sky Go app, and select "TV Guide" and "Record to Sky box" to see the full listings.

TV Listings

Amazing that a TV company now don't have a TV Guide / Listing online  -  well thought through.  Rather like buying the Radio Times and finding all the pages are blank.
