Re: online tv guide

This is a guide with a similar look and feel - https://www.tvguide.co.uk/

What it does not have (of course) is the facility to remotely set up a programme to record. This can be done on Sky Go if needed.

I wonder why this facility was removed. The underlying programme data must still be available and the remote record process was clunky (often said failed when it actually worked) but could not be much of an overhead.

Re: online tv guide

Thanks for the suggestion, that guide is ok but doesn't make full use of the screen landscape. My rant was as much to do with Sky not explaining what they were doing, they just shut it off without a word, shabby behaviour.

@SKY1992bf  Is this 100% correct? If so, I am so [Removed] annoyed with Sky right now. Who made such a stupid decision but didn't have the cojones to put out a statement anywhere? I have been using the online EPG for many years on a daily basis. I used to use the EPG on my TV a long time ago until it started to create screen burn. That's when I turned to the online version. I know screen burn isn't so much of a thing now, but as I have recently bought a new TV, I really don't want to risk screen burn on it. I am not happy about this decision & it appears I'm not alone. Bring it back, or give a VERY good reason as to why it has been taken down.

@Mr+Ripley

Yes sadly this is correct, the online TV guide is no more.

Re: online tv guide

@SKY1992bf Thanks for the reply, even though I'm still fuming about the situation. Was the online EPG hurting anyone or getting in the way? No, it wasn't. Was it a useful tool used by many on a daily basis? Yes, it was. Quite literally one of the stupidest decisions made by Sky in recent years.

Think I may check out that link from @Annie+UK on page 1 of this thread to make a complaint. [Removed]

@Mr+Ripley  unlikely, the same happened with the discontinuation of never miss and that's never returned

Re: online tv guide

So, I'm trying the complaints procedure from the link given in this thread. There are 4 options. Call them, that means speaking to someone offshore. Write to them, so snail-mail in other words. Contact viewerR@sky.uk, but that's only for a complaint about a TV programme, so no use. That leaves the Chatbot message option, which I'm trying now. I'm in a queue & I'm not holding my breath ( which is a good thing as it's currently a 10-minute wait, ha-ha ) about getting anything resolved using this option. So where will that leave me?

Yeah, that was their last stupid decision. They really don't care about their customers and how they use Sky sometimes. Do they have a committee meeting where they find tools that we like to use & then say, " Yep, get rid of that "?

Re: Sky TV Guide Website https://www.sky.com/tv-guide/

Just adding my voice to the clamour for this to return. The page it redirects to is worse than useless. If Sky Go worked reliably or quickly - and it definitely doesn't - then I'd load that to check listings. But it doesn't. So :

Bring back the TV Guide.

Maybe extra noise might make them notice.

I doubt it.

Can I stop paying without warning?

Except you aren't paying for the TV Guide service, that was a free service.

Re: Sky TV Guide Website https://www.sky.com/tv-guide/

Yes but it was a useful service that ended without warning to the detriment of the user experience.

So you can see the parallel. Or maybe you can't, but there it is.

I've given up. Was told it would be a 10-minute wait. 34 minutes later & still no response. Hopeless complaints procedure, would not recommend any of it.

Re: online tv guide

Finally got a response, after letting Robert know that I was registering a complaint about the removal of the online EPG, this is how the rest of the chat went:

Thanks for letting me know, Mervyn.

I'm sorry that the removal of this service has inconvenienced you. I will provide feedback about this to the team that made the decision.

Did you normally view it online to give you an idea of what was on?
Robert - 5:19 PM
Yes, I & many others used it on a daily basis. There is a thread on the Sky Community Forum about this & customers are not at all happy with the removal. They want it back ASAP.
You - 5:21 PM
Thanks for explaining the situation.

I've recorded the complaint. We'll provide feedback, and this is collated.

With something of this nature there won't be an immediate change [Removed]

Re: The comment above in bold. I feel I should maybe rescind this, seeing as how I did finally get to make my complaint. It was written in anger & haste. My apologies.
