I have an issue when trying to watch any live sports on the Sky Sports App with my iPhone and iPad, but my android phone seems to work fine. I have logged into Sky Sports using my credentials, but when I try to watch any live sports, the app just says “Video Unavailable - A problem was encountered- please try again later”. Has anyone else encountered this issue and is there a solution?

If you have then does your password contain anything that isn't a letter or a number ?

Hi and thanks for letting me this and for your suggestions. I have deleted and reinstalled the app on numerous occasions on both my iPhone and iPad and still get the same issues. I can also confirm that my password does only contain letters and numbers, so I am a bit stumped.

Failing that you can email the apps team to see if they can help you with this via the address - apps@sky.uk with the subject 'Sky Sports IOS app'.

Thank you very much for your suggestions, which are really helpful. I have tried the app on both Wi-Fi and mobile data and due to an issue last night with the Sky Puck, rebooted my router too. I will email the apps Team to see if they can help and thank you very much again for your help.

Hi, ever since the last update on 18 April 2023, version no. 8.34.0, the previous issue I had of not being able to watch any live sports on the Sky Sports App with my iPhone or iPad, has returned. Once again when I try to watch any live sports, the app just says “Video Unavailable - A problem was encountered- please try again later”. I have emailed the app support team and carried out all of the trouble shooting described in previous posts, but has anyone else encountered this recurring issue?

Hi there
Have similar problem with app.
Can view recorded videos on app but for some reason not live action video where I get similar message of video unavailable
Like other posters have uninstalled app and reinstalled several times to no avail
I have no VPN installed on tablet system which is mentioned on similar problem page on virgin forum
We have 2 mobile phones in here household which are connecting perfectly with app on same router system but not the tablet and caniew live video ok on these
Would be beneficial to watch on larger screen size
Worked soon after changeover but not since app update which I believe was around early July??
Can you shed any light on matter please? Thanks
