Mobile recording
I can remotely record on the sky q box via sky go on the iPad. Why can't I do this from the iphone

When I am out and want to record something, I open the app, on the iPhone, I choose the program I want to record and press R.
I then get an option to record once or record series and regardless of which option I choose I get a message saying Error try again later.
It then just goes round in a loop and I cannot record any programs.
Doing exactly the same thing on the iPad when I press R and I get the same record once or series and it works.
I don't understand why it works on the iPad but not on the iPhone.

@AndrewF22 are you signed in to the app on the phone using the primary id?

Yes I am signed into both using the same primary ID

To see if they can help you with this I have escalated your post to the Sky Messaging team who should be in touch with you regarding this via a blue/red chat bubble which will appear at the bottom of this page. It can take up to a few hours to be contacted via this.
This link explains how this works so you will need to respond to the chat bubble at the bottom of the page when it appears:

When the chat bubble does appear you will have 48 hours to respond or it will be automatically closed. To start the conversation just type in it.

I asked for help but I haven’t heard anything from you, so if you could come back to me to help resolve this issue it would be appreciated.
The issue seems to be when I am on mobile data it won’t record a program, but when I am at home in the house on my WiFi it works.
This is pointless because if I am at home I have my sky boxes that I can record a program on, what I want is to be able to record a program when I am not at home.
Can you help with this?

I replied to the chat explaining what my issue was but when I went back to chat it says link has expired.
why can't you just email me directly and hopefully get this resolved. I do not have time to sit with an open chat just in case someone replies.

This messaging option is not at all useful and really disjointed, so if there is an alternative to actually speak to someone to resolve this then please give me the details and I'll give that a try.

@AndrewF22 there is only 1 way to phone Sky.
You can call on 150 from a Sky Talk Line or Sky Mobile.
If you haven't got a current Sky Mobile or Sky Talk this link should help:
https://www.sky.com/help/home Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number. If you are in the ROI on the same link change the flag in the very bottom corner to the ROI flag to obtain an 0818 number.

Well that was a total waste of time... took ages to actually get to speak to someone and only after 3 transfers and a call back.
Person wanted to answer questions that I wasn't asking and couldn't or certainly didn't answer what I was asking.
They tell me that you cannot record a program using SkyGo app when on mobile data, but you can on wifi.... whats that about?
They assure me I can be on the same wifi as the Sky Q box when I am in the house, but why would i want to do that I have a sky Q box and Mini box that I can record a program on so why would I use a mobile when at home when i have the proper devices for doing it and it would be easier to do.
I can stream live TV when I am out and about on moibile data but cannot record a program.... I think this cannot be right.
