S1 E1: The Heirs of the Dragon

King Viserys is forced to choose between the life of his heir and that of his wife during childbirth. His wife dies giving birth, and the boy dies the next day. Rhaenyra is named heir.

S1 E2: The Rogue Prince

Ser Otto Hightower sends his daughter to comfort the grieving king. Ser Criston Cole is raised to the Kingsguard. Lord Corlys Velaryon and Princess Rhaenys propose that Viserys wed their daughter, Laena. King Viserys announces his bride-to-be as Lady Alicent Hightower.

S1 E3: Second of His Name - Three Years Later

Prince Daemon and Lord Corlys battle the Crabfeeder and win. Rhaenyra's half-brother Aegon celebrates his second birthday. Rhaenyra is encouraged to find a suitable marriage match.

S1 E4: King of the Narrow Sea

Prince Daemon and Rhaenyra visit a brothel and kiss. Rhaenyra seduces Ser Criston Cole, which starts rumours flying about Prince Daemon deflowering her. Viserys orders Rhaenyra become engaged to Ser Laenor to avoid scandal. Viserys dismisses Otto as Hand of the King.

S1 E5: We Light the Way

Prince Daemon murders his wife, Lady Rhea Royce. Rhaenyra and Ser Laenor are wed. Laenor's lover, Ser Joffrey Lonmouth, is slain by Criston Cole.

S1 E6: The Princess and the Queen - Ten Years Later

King Viserys fathers three children with Alicent: Aegon II, Aemond and Helaena. Rhaenyra has three children with Laenor: Jacaerys, Lucerys and Joffrey. Laena, now wed to Prince Daemon, commands her dragon Vhagar to incinerate her after failing to give birth. Ser Criston goads Ser Harwin Strong into exile after rumours of an affair with Rhaenyra. Ser Harwin is murdered by Larys' paid criminals.

S1 E7: Driftmark

At Laena's funeral in Driftmark, Rhaenyra and Daemon reunite and sleep together. In an altercation, Lucerys slashes Aemond's eye; to which Queen Alicent lunges in revenge. Ser Qarl appears to murder Laenor, but it is revealed the death was faked so the pair could escape together. Daemon and Rhaenyra secretly marry.

S1 E8: The Lord of the Tides - Six Years Later

Ser Vaemond claims Rhaenyra's son Lucerys is illegitimate. Rhaenyra proposes two marriage alliances with Princess Rhaenys to gain her support. King Viserys, though severely ill, appears to solidify Lucerys's claim. Daemon beheads Ser Vaemond for insulting Rhaenyra. Viserys, on his death bed, recounts part of Aegon the Conqueror's dream, which Alicent mistakes as reference to her son.

S1 E9: The Green Council

King Viserys dies, which Otto keeps a secret in order to carry out the Green Council's plot to put Aegon on the throne. Kings Landing is gathered to witness Ageon's coronation, with an opposing Princess Rhaenys held captive. Ser Erryk frees Rhaenys, who takes her dragon Meleys, bursts into the hall and flees King's Landing.

S1 E10: The Black Queen

Rhaenys informs Rhaenyra of Viserys' death and Aegon's usurpal, which prompts her into premature labour in which she suffers a stillbirth. Ser Erryk brings Viserys' crown and hails Rhaenyra as Queen. Prince Daemon instructs his children to call other houses into the Black Council's favour. Lucerys and Aemond clash while meeting with Borros and engage in a dragonfight, in which Lucerys dies. Princess Rhaenyra finds out her son is dead.
