Are these settings correct:

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server

Server - smtp.tools.sky.com
Port - 465
Requires SSL - Yes
Requires authentication - Yes

I'm pretty sure the outgoing mail settings were correct - it seemed fairly automatic once the app was downloaded from the Play store and my new temporary password from sky was entered..

I'd not heard of K9 and it's tie up with Thunderbird, so I though I'd try it.

It had OAuth2 as an authentication option but when I tried it it said it couldn't work with "this provider" (Sky)

Used a generated password and it seemed O.K. with that, even told me how many emails were going to be in my inbox, but when I opened it all I had was an Outbox (and a unified inbox which is promising) but nothing else. Tried sending an email, and like yourself if just stayed in the Outbox.

Looks like it still needs work.

They say it should be fully integrated into the Thunderbird family, and renamed, by mid 2023. I'll give it another try then.

I've checked the out going settings and they are as you suggested. I'll try the K9 forum group. Thanks.
