Verification codes not requested

I keep receiving verification codes by text messages every day even though I have not requested them. I do not need a verification code to access my emails on my mobile. Does this mean some scammer is trying to access them?

Is anyone else having this problem ? Any advice on how to stop this would be appreciated.

Thank you

S Hughes

I am also receiving verification codes on a daily basis for the last week.

As far as I'm aware 2fa hasn't been set up on my account nor am I requesting any codes.

You can check by trying to log in here: https://www.sky.com/signin/email

If you're sent a Verification Code which you have to entr before you're allowed access to your email account - it's set up.

The verification code is sent only if you've previously set up two step verification. If you've done so,, receipt of a verification code would indeed indicate that either you or someone else is trying to access your email account.

@luke8emma6

It appears you might have setup 2 step authentication on your email account so each time you login you are sent this text with verification code.

To turn off 2FA sign in with the recovery code so at the login select "can't sign in with the code" link. You'll then be asked for the recovery code.

When you signed up to 2FA you were given a recovery code so if you didn't make a note of it then check the email you were also sent.

Help can also be found here on how to turn this off and/or change your number:

Re: Verification codes not requested

Quite right @luke8emma6  and thanks. 2FA was set up so I can assume it's someone else trying to hack the account. I'll change my password to help prevent further attempts

Thanks again.
