There are other people having issues with IMAP on laptops, its not just on iphone and ipads.
There are 3 people in my household and they all have the same issues on all devises at home only, as I said Sky resolved the issue last time i contacted them and they escalated. Guess I will just have to keep wasting my time phoning them up to report it for a fix which only lasts a few days. I can't wait till my contract ends and I can move suppliers.
I am at work now using BT and my emails works fine on my laptop and iphone (using IMAP). But when I get home I will get the error again.

iPhones are Apple, so yes an Apple problem.
Edit: the OP didn't say what laptop they were using, but probably a MacBook.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out morei can guarantee you that there are no problems with the Sky or Yahoo IMAP servers that are causing your problem.
If it is only occurring at home whilst using Sky broadband there must be something wrong with your home connection, but obviously I don't know what.
If you start your own thread and explain in detail what your problem is, we may be able to assist.

My laptop isn't from Apple so not just a problem on apple devises but thanks for pointing that out.
Strange how my emails on my laptop and phone (using IMAP) work ok on all other networks, just not my SKY broadband!

I've already done that as well

Looks like it's been removed! I can find it on Google search but when I click on the link it comes up with an error!

That would explain why I can't find it.
Try again, and as we will be waiting for it we will try to give any help we can.
From the posts you made on the other thread you joined,
Re: Sky blocking connection to my email server - Page 2 | Sky Community
it isn't obvious if you are refering to a Sky email address, and the OP there was trying to use a South African email service (Afrihost), and yes Sky are blocking some SA links.
