Evening everyone.
So, woke up Monday 24th June. No access to emails on PC, Phone and Work PC.
All devices allow me to log in to my Sky Account, but, when I choose emails, as usual, I get a text with a 6 digit code.
I enter the code.
I drop the menu down on PC and select 'Yahoo Mail'.
It takes me to a 'Yahoo.com' instead of into my inbox.
Now, after speaking to a useless advisor (he's escelated it as I cited breach of Data Protection by not allowing me access to my personal data) I cannot even get to the Yahoo.com page.
The advisor tried to say I needed to contact Yahoo but I told him of the replies in this forumn saying that was useless as they had no domain over my emails and could do nothing.
Has anyone managed to note down the process to egain access to emails please?
This has blocked me from kids schools, doctors, work, bills etc...
Clearly some people are having this issue resolved but finding anything about it in here or on the internet is like looking for the real Santa!!
Thanks,
Chris.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI'm confused. How is this connected with your other recent emails?

I'm not following what you mean? @Mark39
'Connected to recent emails...'
I thought the screenshots and explanation would be clear. Apologies it seemes not.
Sunday night... I have emails on phone and PC.
Monday morning I had no access to emails on Phone or PC.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreSo is this the consequence of what the Sky adviser has done, in an effort to sort out the problem with a 6 digit verification code being sent?
25 Jun 2024 08:17 PM
No. I never said that @Mark39
I emphasised it to show that the advisor was useless, I then asked him to escalate it, and during the call got that error page.
The 6 digit code is nothing to do with the advisor. He was honest enough to say he was out of his depth on the issue.
The 6 digit code is what Yahoo says it sends to my email address to gain access to... my email address.
That I cannot get access to... the access code... to get access to the email address.
So, in short, given the scores of people with the same issue, I am merely asking did anyone make a note of what the advisor who sorted some of them out did to get them access back.

I don't. The issue is on a mobile and the works PC too @caesarome
So it's not linkied to just one servier or IP address.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreYou problem does not sound like the usual ones we encounter here.
The "Skyid Acess denied" is normally associated with an I.P. or browser problem.
You seem to say you are getting the verification code to your phone O.K. so I would suggest trying turning off the 2FA as described here and see if it makes any difference.

Thanks @jayach
I got an advisor in the webchat this afternoon who gave me the number of: 0333 75 95 112
Customer Complaints dept.
Option 5.
'No' when asked about receiving a text.
Spoke to advisor who informed me that they have had this before and Yahoo are deleting email addresses/revoking access.
Long story short, i still don't have access to the emails as they have to send a form and it takes 5-7 days to resolve!!
Ridiculous.
So TEN days in total without access to my emails.
I asked the advisor to use the next team huddle to ask why management are not taking this up with Yahoo and asking what is going on for customers to lose access to email inboxes.
Surely it makes sense from a Customer Service point of view to know what's happened and not annoy cutomers.
My 2-step verification works fine for the Sky side to log me in.
It's when I click on 'Yahoo Email' below that it then redirects me to Yahoo.com!!
Sunday, it simply opened up my inbox. Monday morning... it started to redirect me.
And this Yahoo.com page doesn't recognise my email address.
I will update further when I have had my phone call.
My mum has same issue but only on her laptop so I need to sort hers too.
I'm starting to wonder if Yahoo have had a data brach they are covering up.

Rather confused about this, as far as I know the 2FA is only for email, it's not needed to access your Sky account

Tried removing two-step verify and still takes me from sky.co. to Yahoo.com when i click on 'Yahoo mail'.
26 Jun 2024 07:31 PM
Sorry @jayach I confused the matter then. I meant it takes me to the drop down menu for logging into emails so it does it's job..
With or without 2-step I still get redirected to Yahoo.com when clicking on Yahoo Emails.
Guess I'll have to wait and see what the next phonecall brings but it would appear that Sky need to fill in a form to send to Yahoo as Yahoo are deleting email addresses. 😞

https://skyid.sky.com/signin/email/
Are you being redirected to Yahoo ?
26 Jun 2024 07:35 PM
Yes @caesarome
I log in to my account. Click on emails (with or without 2-step) and then, when i click on 'Yahoo emails',
instead of taking me to my inbox, it takes me to Yahoo.com.
