Unable to access account through IMAP

When trying to acces my emails today, i am unable to download emails through thunderbird or the native windows mail app, with the error of "Login to server imap.tools.sky.com with username <EMAIL> failed" where <email> is my email address. I regenerated the app password for thunderbird.

so typically of it just not working, no errors at all just saying failed, it has just logged in and started working with nothing changed.

Does it just say failed so it gives no reason for the failure ?
