It is up to you of course but it seems a bit drastic for an email issue because even if you cancelled your Sky services your Sky email account would remain. Why not use a different email provider who doesn't use 2FA like Gmail (Google).

Already use Gmail and Outlook for various reasons. My Skymail address is long established and I have no desire to have to change. I would suggest that Sky, as with other organisations, offer the alternative to a text message which would be a Whatsapp message. It's our preferred means of receiving calls and messages as the broadband connection is reasonable. (Therein lies another tale involving the absence of any FTTP connectivity)
