The notes option in Sky Email has disappeared, why is this?

Gone into my sky email today, and the notes option that is normally there has gone, I only have calendar, conatcts and help. I have a large amount of notes that I need access to.

I've never had Sky email, but I do use Yahoo mail. A couple of days ago I got an email from Yahoo with subject "Yahoo Notepad is being retired – download your notes before 15 Jan 2027". Logging into the yahoo mail website shows shows a sooner date of 15 August:

And the link goes to "Yahoo Mail Download Manager" where it is possible to download "Calendar and Notepad" details (I've never used yahoo notes, so I didnt bother!).

Thanks for the info, not heard anything about this or any emails relating to it. So I have reached out to Yahoo about it now.

@kevinw3889789 it's Sky you would need to speak to. Yahoo Mail and Sky Yahoo Mail are managed separately.

I wasn't even aware Sky|Yahoo have had a notes feature.

I very much doubt Sky will have a clue about it.

However for anyone struggling here is a link to the Yahoo help about the closure, it does lead to the download manager and seems to works from my Sky account,so worth a try.

Just to say I've tried the download option, and it took a day, but it has download a .zip file which contains a "notepad" folder.

It is empty for me, but I didn't have any notes, so not unexpected.

For some reason there was a dot missing from the URL given.

Has it worked for any of you who did have notes?

Thanks , yeah I have the items downloaded now. I contacted yahoo who sent me a link and it took a day to get the download but sorted now.

I got my calendar and my notepad back through yahoo after requesting them and it took about 24 hours for yahoo to email back that they were ready for downloading. I went to the Download Manager and the particular section relating to them, where it had been updated to "ready to download".  The various Notepad headings are all recognisably mine which is a positive sign. However, once I click on them for the individual files they are in text, so ending .txt.  I am not very tech savvy but realise that this needs changing to pdf or whatever. I do not know how to do this, and the Download Manager, headed "Messages", Learn how to download... etc is not currently functioning so I am hoping a family member might be able to help me.  I am annoyed that I wasn't forewarned that Notepad was going to be withdrawn, and having looked at this Forum, that they have done it ahead of time. It would also be helpful to have been given more advice on how to do it. I also tried to download Calendar as I also have a lot of info in there too. I let it try and download but after 2 days of it running! I decided to cancel that. I was very foolish to save so much in Notepad, but have been using it for about 20 years so it grew! Any advice gratefully received.

I've never used the the notes facility, but I would think that notes are always going to be just text.

Perhaps someone who has used the notes facility previously could tell us if it was possible to save files in there, but I would doubt it,

If you do/did have any files, such as PDFs, that you received as attachments to emails, they should have been saved somewhere in your filesystem, so would be unaffected.

There is no mention of anything happening to the calender, so I wouldn't worry about that.
