Spam email

Received an email from

 Sky- uk  at express.fra1.medallia.eu

which according to other posts is a legitimate Sky email address seeking feedback about recent service during an upgrade to my service.
My service has not been upgraded, since much earlier this year when I took Sky Glass. That was a hideous experience and it all went back within the cooling off period.

Stupidly I clicked to opt out as I don't do these survey and feedback things. I praise where I should and critique where I feel necessary but all of my own volition. Perhaps I should not have done that ?? Can a kind person give me some insight please?

Re: Spam email

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

@AnneF3 a quick search indicates that Medallia are a genuine company who specialise in 'experience management'. The email may simply have been sent in error. If the email was genuinely from them, clicking on unsubscribe should result in the action you aimed for.

It's conceivable that a scammer might have spoofed an email address to look like the genuine article. Providing you weren't asked to log ion to Sky, clicking on unsubscribe would simply have confirmed that your email address is active. In those circumstances you might start receiving more spam and unsolicited emails from them and their associates.

On balance of likelihood, I'd guess that the email was simply sent to you in error, and not by a spammer/scammer.
